What I do around here:

I assess and train patients with various health backgrounds to achieve their goals and help them return to improved daily function. I work specifically with the Portable Neuromodulation Stimulator (PoNS®) device one-on-one with clients with mild to moderate brain injuries and balance issues.

I became a Chiropractor because:

I grew up in an athletic family, with both my parents being runners and avid outdoors recreational gurus. They also both had medical careers helping a variety of patients get better. I wanted to find a way to help them and others of various health backgrounds to enjoy the physical and mental health benefits of exercise therapy without getting injured and achieving their long-term goals! I am an advocate of Exercise is Medicine. I am now on my 10th year as a Registered Kinesiologist and am proud of what I have achieved alongside my
patients – I learn more from them every day!

My personal philosophy is:

Every patient is different and my approach with rehab programming must be tailored to each individual. We need to find what motivates you and work with that. Creativity is key to individualize your rehab experience, alongside evidence based rehab techniques! Mental health also has a strong hold over how well we recover. My favourite quote is: “We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same.” ― Carlos Castaneda

What I do for fun:

I am an avid bicyclist, if I could bike everywhere I would! I enjoying snowboarding, playing guitar, listening to all genres of music and reading. I like to learn something new every day! I enjoy running as a way to control my own stress, and entering races to motivate me further. My favourite companion is my dog; I believe our pets generate lots of motivation for physical activity and happiness.

Testimonials

I have been a patient at the Apollo Clinic since December of 2012. Upon my first appointment I could feel a sense of comfort at Apollo. The comfort I felt was compounded each appointment I had. The therapists I was given have gone above and beyond the required level of commitment you would normally encounter. You are always greeted with not only a nice smile but passionate staff. They genuinely care about your physical well being and also your general well being which gives you a feeling of comfort I’m sure is rare when dealing with such traumatic issues. I can honestly say that I would not want to be anywhere else to deal with my physical issues. I would like to send a sincere thank-you to all the staff at the St.Laurent Apollo location.

What I do around here:

I prescribe, progress, and regress exercise programs as well as teach correct movement techniques to help others recover, stay mobile, and injury free. I also apply treatment modalities such as thermotherapy, cryotherapy, TENS, STIM, IFC, ultrasound, and taping.

I became an Exercise Specialist because:

I am passionate about interacting and learning from others, and love being able to see people reach their full potential and live with good quality of life through exercise and physical activity!

My personal philosophy is:

Get to know the person, not just the patient.

What I do for fun:

I enjoy activities that allow me to spend time with my wife and two daughters.  Riding on the bike trails of Ottawa, playing golf, hockey and soccer are just a few of the things that keep me active.  As well, spending a few days at the gym working on strength and aerobic conditioning allow me to stay fit and keep pace with my active children.  With very little down time, I occasionally like to spend a quiet night at home watching a movie or playing the Wii.
